Scientific name Metridium senile. This sea anemone lives on deep artificial reefs and rocky surfaces below 15m all along the East Sea coast, blooming into full flower as the water temperature drops in winter. It is a signature sight of East Sea cold-water diving.

About 35m down off Ingu in Yangyang, the colonies spread like a white flower field, earning the nickname the ‘Anemone Garden.’ It is a cold-water, deep-diving hotspot that peaks during the winter bloom.
