Korea has a dense network of high-speed rail (KTX·SRT), express/intercity buses, urban rail, air, and coastal ferries. The basic route: arrive at Incheon/Gimpo → regional gateway → board the boat at the local port. The core friction isn't the mode of transport but online booking and payment — foreign cards frequently fail on 3D-Secure and Korean identity verification.

KTX departs from Seoul·Yongsan·Cheongnyangni (Korail); SRT from Suseo (SR). The Donghae Line Bujeon–Gangneung opened on 2025-01-01, connecting Busan ↔ Gangneung directly by rail.

- Foreign credit cards often fail online payment due to 3D-Secure and Korean mobile / alien registration number verification.

- AREX·KTX fares may change — reconfirm on the official sites (airportrailroad.com·korail.com).
- The old ‘AREX Express ₩9,500’ is an outdated fare — currently ₩13,000.
